The First China Electrification Development Forum Was Held In Beijing

November, 19, 2021 /CEC/ - On November 19, 2021, the First China Electrification Development Forum hosted by China Electricity Council (CEC) and co-organized by Electric Power Development Research Institute (EPDRI), was successfully held in Beijing. Themed on "Double Carbon Lightening the Future of Power Industry", the Forum attracted officials from relevant government departments, experts from energy, transportation, construction, metallurgy, chemical, household appliances industries and universities to discuss new achievements and trends of electrification development under the background of realizing the "Double Carbon" goal and building a New Type Power System. 

The Forum was moderated by An Hongguang, the Vice President of CEC, and Pan Yuelong, the Chief Supervisor of CEC. Yang Kun, the Executive President of CEC and Gou Feng, the Deputy Director of the Electric Power Department of National Energy Administration, attended the Forum and delivered the Welcome Notes. Representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China Development Bank, associations, scientific research institutes and power enterprises also attended the Event. The Forum was held both online and offline and more than 130,000 audiences watched the Forum through online live broadcast.

“The Annual Report on the Development of China's Electrification 2021”was officially released at the Forum. Yang Kun, Gou Feng and Jiang Yi jointly unveiled the Report. Zhang Tianguang, the Director of EPDRI, introduced the content of the Report, which analyzed and displayed the process of electrification in China in multiple dimensions, studied the development situation and goals of electrification, look forward to the mid-to-long-term electrification process, proposes paths for the improvement of the electrification level of the whole society.

Kun Yang pointed out in his speech: “Based on the new understanding of the development of electrification in the new era, CEC compiled and released the Report which aims to play a positive role in promoting the low-carbon development and efficient use of energy and power. CEC will strengthen the communication and coordination with the upstream and downstream power industries and improve its professional service qualities to accelerate the integration of the green power supply chain industry chain and to make contributions to enhance the development of the electrification and to achieve the "dual carbon" goal.”
