Certification Ceremony of 100 "Power Craftsmen" and Closing Ceremony of the 13th National Power Industry Vocational Skills Competition (Wind Power Operation and Maintenance Attendant) Held in Dawu

October 22, 2021 /CEC/ - On October 21, 2021, the Closing Ceremony of the 13th National Power Industry Vocational Skills Competition (Wind Power Operation and Maintenance Attendant) and the Certification Ceremony of 100 "Power Craftsmen" were held in Dawu, Hubei Province, China. Sponsored by China Electricity Council (CEC), China Employment Training Technology Guidance Center and National Committee of China Energy, Chemical and Geological Trade Union, the Competition was undertaken by China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) and co-organized by CGN New Energy Holdings Co., Ltd.

Yang Kun, the Executive President of CEC as well as the Director of the 13th National Power Industry Vocational Skills Competition Organizing Committee, Yang Zhiming, the President of China Labor Society and Li Yilun, the Deputy General Manager of China General Nuclear Power Corporation, attended the Event and delivered Welcome Notes. Zhang Zhiwu on behalf of the CGN New Energy Holding Co., Ltd., Yan Xiaopeng on behalf of the China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. and more than 200 representatives from field of new energy (wind power generation) and 100 "Power Craftsmen" attended the Ceremony. In conjunction with the competition, a showcase of 100 "Power Craftsmen" with theme of "Ingenuity and Skills" was held to publicize advanced deeds of craftsmen. At certification ceremony, an honor awarding ceremony was held for 100 representatives of "Electric Craftsmen".

With theme of "Energize your Career with Infinite Wind Power", this competition focused on practical working skills in wind farm operation maintenance, adopting two-person competition system, setting up two kinds of tests: written test and tower/non-tower climbing test. It is the first national vocational skill competition specially held for operators on duty of wind farm operation and maintenance. 14 power companies sent 74 professional players to form 37 teams onsite.  

After two days of fierce competition, Liu Lei, Yu Chongyang, Qiang Wei and Gao Peng from China Energy Investment Corporation stood out and won first and second places respectively. Four contestants will be awarded the title of "National Technical Expert" after being approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. At the same time, four contestants will be directly promoted to professional skill level of technicians by CEC. In the group competition, China Energy Longyuan Power won the first prize while China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. and China Datang Corporation Ltd. Won the second prize. The Organizing Committee of the competition also awarded the "Excellent Organization" prize to the units that actively participate in the competition and organize the selection of contestants.
