CEC Held the Round Table Meeting on Power Industry Standardization

Aug. 27, 2021 /CEC/ - China Electricity Council (CEC) held the Round Table Meeting on Power Industry Standardization in Beijing on Aug. 27, 2021. An Hongguang, Vice President of CEC and Liu Yongdong, Deputy Secretary General of CEC and more than 50 staff and representatives from CEC branch organizations attended the Meeting. 

An Hongguang expressed in his speech that CEC should fully understand the new positioning of the standardization work under the development of energy transformation and the nation’s goal of achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality, namely the new challenge for CEC’s standardization work while establishing a world-class association and the new requirement for CEC’s standardization work while achieving the high-quality development. 

On behalf of the CEC Standardization Center (CECSC), Liu Yongdong made a report to summarize the achievements of CEC’s standardization work during the 13th-Five-Year Plan period. In the mentioned five years, a total of 2,170 standards had been issued by CEC, incl. 1,512 industrial standards, 220 national standards and 438 CLP standards, which basically met the needs of the power industry. Liu Yongdong also mentioned in his report the shortcomings of the current standardization work and put further five advises on CEC standardization work for the next 14th-Five-Year-Plan: 

- To adjust the standardization action plan according to the nation’s goal of achieving the carbon peak and carbon neutrality. 

- To enhance the standard management ability of the Technical Committee

- To consolidate domestic standards and the international standards to provide better services internally

- To provide better standard services to CEC’s member companies 

- To strengthen its overall management ability
