10 July, 2021, Wenzhou /CEC/ - On July 10, the Oujiang Summit 2021 and the 2nd International Industrial and Energy Internet Innovation and Development Conference opened in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. With the concept of "Digital Energy, Smart Internet of Things", the Conference focused on the innovation and development of industry and energy interconnection, shared the experience drawing from cases of digital reform and transformation, and discussed the way to achieve the nation’s targets of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. The Conference included a series of activities, including the Oujiang Summit, which was also the opening ceremony and main event of the Conference, 6 parallel forums and an expo that be held ongoing during the Conference. More than 700 delegates from government officials, industrial experts, scholars, representatives of international industry and energy organizations and enterprise participated the Conference. The Never Closed expo showcased the intelligent manufacturing applications, industrial and energy IOT technologies and achievements.
At the opening ceremony of the Conference (Oujiang Summit 2021), Qiu Baoxing, the Former Vice Minister of Housing and Urban Rural Development Ministry, talked about the role of the "urban brain" and "grid" in his speech titled "Key Points for Designing Smart City". Li Yizhong, the President of the China Federation of Industrial Economy, Pan Yunhe, the Former President of Zhejiang University, and Zhang Rujing, Founder of SMIC also expressed their views on energy structure optimization, digital economy, carbon peak and carbon nutrality targets and the development of IOT.
Yang Kun, the Executive President of China Electricity Council (CEC), was invited to attend the Conference and deliver the keynote speech on behalf of CEC. In the speech, Yang Kun mentioned that China is the country with complete industrial system and highest industrial output value in the world, as well as the world's largest energy producer and consumer. Through the development of recent years, China's power industry has made remarkable achievements in green and low-carbon transformation. By the end of 2020, the installed capacity of non-fossil energy power generation in China is 960GW, accounting for 43.4% of the total installed capacity. Electric energy accounts for about 27% of total energy consumption in China, and the electrification rate is at the same level as that of developed countries. “Moreover, the nation’s targets to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality guided the further development of the power industry. During the 14th-Five-Year Plan period, the power industry would fucus on building up the New Type Power System, which realizes the integration of energy Interconnection and digital economy based on energy flow, business flow and data flow. It would also open up all links of "source network load storage". New opportunities from the power generation side, power grid side and the user side would open to the companies in the power industry”, Yang Kun expressed. “CEC as the industrial association closely followed the new trends of the power industry and built the information service platform for the whole industry. We were actively involved into the carbon market planning and established the relevant branches in electric vehicles and energy storage, electric energy substitution, power sales and energy services, wind power, solar power generation, etc. In terms of standardization, reliability, project quality and credit, we also tried to strengthen our services for small and medium-sized enterprises by new formats.”
During the Conference, Yang Kun also attended the Commencement Ceremony of a new industry platform as well as the Forum “100 Pioneers of Industry and Energy Internet”.
