China Southern Power Grid published the White Paper for its Action Plan on New Type Power System Construction from Year 2021 to 2030

Guangzhou, May 15, 2021 /CEC/ – China Southern Power Grid (CSG) published the White Paper for its Action Plan on the New Type Power System Construction from Year 2021 to 2030 at the Press Conference held in Guangzhou on May 15, 2021. The Seminar “Digital Grid Empower the New Type Power System” was held in conjunction with the Press Conference. Academician and experts from the industries expressed their concurrences on the core views of the published White Paper and believed that it is essential to build the new type power system through the digital grid technologies in China.

Yang Kun, the Vice President of China Electricity Council was invited to attend the Press Conference and made a Welcome Note. In the speech, Yang Kun said that accelerating the construction of the new electrical system with new energy as main body mainstay is the only way for power industry to facilitate carbon emission reduction, as well as to support the carbon reduction of the whole society. It is an inevitable choice to realize the high-quality development of electricity industry. 

According to CSG’s expression, it is predicted that CSG would complete the new type power system construction before Year 2030, which would ensure the efficient consumption of the clean energy grid and the reliable supply of the electricity in achieving the nation’s carbon peak and carbon neutralityneutral targets. 

Moreover, The White Paper indicated that CSG will speed up its digital transformation progress and to improve the capability of digital technology platforms and operation capability of digital grid. Regional power grids with high-proportioned new energy access will be selected to build a demonstration zone where digital grid carries new electrical system. They will comprehensively build a safe, reliable, green, efficient, intelligent and modern power grid and construct a new electrical system with new energy as main bodymainstay, all of which is to ensure a safe grid and reliable supply in achieving carbon peak and carbon neutralizationneutrality targets.
