Seminar on approaches for Carbon peak and carbon neutrality of power industry held by CEC

CEC held “the Seminar on approaches for Carbon peak and carbon neutrality of power industry” on March 3rd to formulate an action plan aiming to realize carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. The seminar was chaired by Yang Kun, Executive Vice President of CEC. Wang Zhixuan, Vice President of CEC, participated in the seminar and delivered a speech.

CEC representatives introduced research achievements on carbon peak and carbon neutrality of power industry. After discussions, delegates put forward opinions and suggestions on the preliminary research achievements. 

Yang Kun underlined in his summary that although time is intense and task is heavy to achieve carbon peak and neutrality, power industry must plan as a whole strategically and move forward orderly. With speeding up the non-fossil energy development and energy transformation, how to ensure safe and stable operation of power system and how to maintain the balance among green, safety and economy will be focus. He said CEC pays high attention to significant problems emerging along with power industry development. To tackle these problems, CEC will intensify its research efforts to echo the common voices of power sector and make contribution to carbon peak and carbon neutrality together with power enterprises.

Delegates from National Energy Administration, major grid and generation enterprises of China  attended this seminar.
