CEC 2021 Annual Working Meeting Held

CEC 2021 Annual Working Meeting was held on Jan 29th . By reviewing CEC’s work in 2020 and in the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the meeting focused on summarizing working experience, analyzing power industry development trends, commending advanced collectives and individuals and deploying main work for the year 2021. Yang Kun, Secretary of CPC CEC Committee and Executive Vice President of CEC, attended the meeting and gave a work report titled “New Journey, New Framework, Strive for Upgrading CEC to World First-Class Association”. The meeting was chaired by Yu Chongde, full time Vice President and Secretary-General of CEC. Xia Zhong, Deputy Secretary of CPC committee of CEC and Wei Zhaofeng, Wang Zhixuan, full time vice presidents also participated in the meeting.

To start with, Yang Kun reviewed what a year it has been in 2020 when facing severe and complex international situation, as well as the arduous and formidable tasks of domestic reform, development and stabilization, especially amid the severe impacts by the COVID-19 Pandemic. CEC carried out effective prevention and control measures against the outbreak of COVID-19, fighting along with all CEC members. Targeting at pushing for the overall development of power sector, CEC strictly followed its principles to serve for the industry, and has provided better and quality services as a valuable think tank in the power sector in the past year with.all of the tasks been fulfilled successfully. Entering the year of 2021, CEC will continue to improve its service quality and capability under the directions of the work plan made by the new council leadership, turning on a new chapter in building towards a world first class industry association.

Yang Kun mentioned that, in 2021, CEC was going to strengthen its efforts in the following five aspects: 

• continue constructing high-level think tank for power sector to provide suggestions and solutions for the industry; 

• promoting high-quality development of electric power industry by improving professional service ability; 

• vigorously developing and expanding third-party services for sustainable development; 

• enhancing international communication channels and mechanisms to improve international cooperation; 

• striving to build towards a world first-class industrial association by building up its service ability.

During the meeting, advanced collectives, outstanding staffs and representatives of special work tasks in 2020 were commended. All of the staffs of CEC joined the meeting either online or offline.
