China Electricity Council held 2020 Electric Power Innovation Conference

In order to improve the technology and management level of the electric power industry, China Electricity Council held the "2020 Electric Power Innovation Conference" with the theme of “Innovation leads high-quality development” in Beijing on December 29, 2020.

Yang Kun, Executive President China Electricity Council, attended the conference and delivered a speech. He pointed out that in the face of carbon peaking, carbon neutrality, and the new requirements for the high-quality development of energy and power during the 14th Five-Year Plan, the electric power industry must promote the construction of the smart energy system centered on electricity, guiding the sustainable and healthy development of new power development patterns and new business models, and actively explores the integrated development of comprehensive energy services and environmental protection, smart cities, and electric vehicles.

Han Wenke, senior consultant with the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission and researcher with the Academy of Macroeconomic Research, delivered a special report entitled "Strive to Build a Modern Energy System Centered on Electricity". Li Junfeng, former director of the National Centre of Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, gave a special report entitled "Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality, Opportunities and Challenges for the Development of Power Industry".

During the conference, 2020 Electric Power Innovation Award Ceremony, and China Electricity Council Advanced Member Enterprise and Advanced Individual Award Ceremony were held. The conference was held in a combination of online and offline, and about 280 people attended the on-site meeting.
