Forum on the "13th Five-Year" Period Achievements and the "14th Five-Year" Period Outlook of Chinese Energy and Power Industry held in Beijing

On December 4, the Forum on the "13th Five-Year" Period Achievements and the "14th Five-Year" Period Outlook of Chinese Energy and Power Industry jointly sponsored by China Electricity Council, China Energy Research Society, China National Coal Association, China Petroleum Enterprise Association and China Machinery Industry Federation was successfully held in Beijing. With the theme of "actively promoting the energy industry quality and efficiency, green transformation, and marching towards a new journey of high-quality development", the forum summarized the development achievements and experience of Chinese energy and electric power industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, comprehensively analyzed the new situation faced by the industry, and explores the development roadmap of China's energy and power in the next five years.

Guo Zhi, Chief Economist of National Energy Administration, Shi Yubo, Executive Vice President of China Energy Research Society, and Yang Kun, Executive Vice President of China Electricity Council attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

In his speech, Yang Kun pointed out that it is estimated that by the end of 2020, the installed capacity of power generation nationwide will reach 2140 GW, of which non-fossil energy installed capacity will reach 930 GW, accounting for 43.7%; the total electricity consumption of the whole society will reach about 7400TWh. The installed power generation capacity, the non-fossil energy installed capacity, and the electricity consumption of the whole society all exceed the targets of 2100GW, 770 GW, and 6800-7200 TWh in the 13th Five-Year Plan for power development. CEC will closely unite its members and work with the upstream and downstream industries to make new and greater contributions to ensuring energy and power security.

During the forum, the summit dialogue carried out in-depth discussions on how energy companies deal with "Carbon Peak" and "Carbon Neutral", and how to promote energy transition while ensuring energy security.

The forum is an important part of the 30th China International Electric Power Equipment and Technology Exhibition. The exhibition was held in Shanghai with a total exhibition area of 50,000 square meters. Nearly a thousand well-known power enterprises and equipment manufacturers participated in the exhibition. The exhibition covered various sections of  power intelligent manufacturing, electric power Internet of Things and electric power digitization, comprehensively reflecting the current development of China's energy and electric power industry.
