Yang Kun attended the special meeting of the AESIEAP Executive Committee and Council

On November 26, Yang Kun, Executive Vice President of China Electricity Council, represented Liu Zhenya, President of China Electricity Council, to attend the special meeting of the AESIEAP Executive Committee and Council.

The meeting was held online by live connections and was hosted by Rogelio Singson, the current Secretary-General of the AESIEAP from Meralco of the Philippines. Council members and representatives from 14 AESIEAP member countries and regions attended the meeting.

Rogelio Singson， representing the host of CEPSI 2021 from the Philippines reported to the Council the preparatory plan for the CEPSI 2021 and proposed to the council an alternative plan for hosting a series of AESIEAP activities online in 2021. The online activities will continue to follow the theme of "Energized Countries, Empowered Communities", and will invite experts from around the world to discuss issues of energy transition, energy security and sustainable development. According to the preliminary plan of the host, the online event will last for two months and will consist of keynote speeches, forums and summits, round table panel discussions, B2B dialogues, virtual workshops, technical paper presentations, virtual exhibition, and networking opportunities. It is expected that the AESIEAP 2021 series of online activities will be held in the third or fourth quarters of 2021.

The members of the AESIEAP approved the proposal of online hosting of AESIEAP activities in 2021 by vote. On behalf of the Council Member of China, Yang Kun expressed his appreciation to the Philippine host for overcoming the impact of the epidemic and putting forward an innovative plan for hosting AESIEAP activities. He said that China Electricity Council and Chinese members will fully support and participate in the series of AESIEAP online activities in 2021.
