2020 Electric Power Industry Cyber Security Offensive and Defensive Invitational Tournament successfully completed

On November 16-17, the "2020 Electric Power Industry Cyber Security Offense and Defense Invitational Tournament Final and Technology Exchange Conference" was successfully held in Guangzhou, marking the successful complete of the 2020 Electric Power Industry Cyber Security Offense and Defense Invitational Tournament. Wang Zhixuan, Vice President of China Electricity Council, attended the final and delivered a speech.

This event attracted a total of 350 organizations, 195 teams, and 724 participants. Since September, a total of 50 teams successfully advanced to the finals, including 41 in the staff group and 9 in the student group after fierce competition.

The final is divided into staff group and student group. The staff group is an offline competition, including individual competitions and team competitions with JAD competition system (Jeopardy + Attack & Defense). The individual competition format is Jeopardy (problem solving). The format of the group competition is Attack & Defense, with a duration of 4 hours each; the student group adopted online competition, with the CTF (Capture the Flag) competition system.

After 8 hours of intense competition, "China Southern Power Grid Digital Media Technology Team" and other 9 teams won the “Top 10” staff group team performance, awarded with the title of "Excellent Skills Team". Huang Hua, Lai Boyu, Xu Chuanmao, Chen Yanfeng, Wu He and Cui Dong won “Top 6” in individual competition of staff group, awarded with the title of "Technical Expert in Electric Power Industry". In terms of student team performance, three teams from Beihang University，The Institute of Disaster Prevention, and North China Electric Power University ranked top three respectively. Zhao Yufei, Wang Yu, Wei Jiangshui, Liu Xuancheng, Liu Hanzhuo and Yu Jie ranked the top six in individual competition of student group.

The "2020 Electric Power Industry Cyber Security Offensive and Defensive Invitational Tournament" lasted more than three months and received enthusiastic responses and strong support from electric enterprises. The event further improved the safety awareness and skill level of network security personnel in the power industry, and promoted the discovery, selection, training, and interactive communication of talents in the field of electric power industry network security.
