Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Branch of CEC held a press conference

On May 12, Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Branch of CEC held a press conference in Beijing with the theme of "New Infrastructure-Charging Sector in Action". Wang Zhixuan, Vice President of CEC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Wang Zhixuan pointed out that the lack of charging infrastructure has always been the biggest shortcoming that restricts the rapid development of new energy vehicles. As one of the seven new fields of "new infrastructure", new energy vehicle charging piles will move from isolation to interconnectivity, further facilitating  the development of the new energy vehicle industry. CEC attaches great importance to the development of the new energy vehicle industry, undertakes the standardization of China's electric vehicle charging facilities, and establishes a standard system for electric vehicle charging facilities in China. The Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Branch of CEC will also play the role of a platform to integrate the advantageous technological resources in the new energy vehicle charging facility industry chain, and make greater contributions to accelerating the high-quality development of the "new infrastructure" charging sector.

The Standardization Management Center of CEC released a report on "The New Infrastructure-Charging Sector in Action". The Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Branch will jointly carry out standardization work to provide professional, convenient and effective technical support and services for relevant policy research, technology research and promotion, product certification, enterprise technology innovation and other aspects.

Representatives from enterprises such as State Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd., China Southern Power Grid Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd., and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. attended the online meeting. The conference was streamed live on Sina, with 90,000 netizens attended.
