CEC Held Electricity Generation Enterprises Carbon Emission Transaction Conversazione

On 17^th April, CEC held Electricity Generation Enterprises Carbon Emission Transaction Conversazione in Beijing. Wang Zhixuan, party member and vice president of CEC attended the meeting and delivered a speech.  Representatives from carbon emission department and subordinate carbon companies of China Huaneng Corporation, China Datang Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, China Energy Investment Corporation, China Electricity Investment Corporation, Guangdong Electricity Corporation, Shenneng Corporation and Shenzhen Energy Corporation attended the meeting.

CEC briefed carbon emission decentralization transaction work conducted by relevant state departments and CEC, discussed the understanding of China’s carbon emission transaction first introduced in electricity generation industry and explained the contents and requirements of carbon emissions transaction commissioned by National Development and Reform Commission Climate Department. According to the document, CEC highlighted the initial implementation of carbon emission transaction, including technical specification of quota allocation for power generation industry, national carbon emission transaction market operation test plan and carbon emission data survey and statistical analysis, etc.

The participating units briefly introduced their own carbon emissions transaction work, including basic work, the implementation and participating situation of national and local carbon transaction policies, the main problems encountered, carbon emission trading work proposals and opinions.
