On February 22, the in-plant solar farm starts commercial operation at Taizhou company of China Energy Jiangsu Branch. It is China’s first photovoltaic power project to be approved for commercial operation to secure energy consumption through in-plant power system, setting a model for green transformation and diversified development of thermal power plants.
The in-plant PV project at Taizhou company of China Energy Jiangsu Branch.
Jiangsu Branch has been focusing on both distributed and centralized development of renewable energy. Based on its technological advantages in electricity management and resource advantages in thermal power generation, the Taizhou company under its umbrella has successfully solved technical problems such as the location of entry point into the access system and gateway metering point by building distributed and floating photovoltaic systems within the plant. This successful exploration of utilizing large enterprise’s idle resources to build PV systems has filled domestic gap in the development model of PV power generation.
In addition, as a supporting facility for the largest CCUS project in China’s thermal power industry, the project is set to provide efficient and clean green energy for the “carbon capture” project and lay a foundation for exploring the infrastructure model of integrating solar energy and carbon capture and storage into coal-fired power generation.
