Nam Kong 1 hydropower station in Laos, built by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), officially went into operation on September 28.
The 160 MW hydropower station is the third hydropower plant invested and constructed by CTG in the country using the BOOT model.
Its main project commenced construction on October 31, 2017. All its generators were officially put into operation on June 29, 2021 after its second power unit completed 72-hour trial operation. The station has been in safe operation for more than three months since then, generating a total of over 100 million kWh of green electricity to power local economic and social development.
