The world's first gigawatt-hydropower unit passed the magnetization test for the stator core at the underground powerhouse on the left bank of the Baihetan Dam on May 14, signaling that the first unit of the hydropower station is stator-ready.
The test is aimed to check the quality of stator assembly. After completion of the magnetization test, the project department will advance the electromechanical installation of #1 Unit on the left bank to ensure that the unit can be operational in July 2021.
