The Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China has released a detailed report on the rapidly improving air quality of major metropolitan Chinese cities.
The extensive research document confirms that Shenzhen, Huizhou, Zhuhai and Zhongshan have now been ranked in the top 20 major cities with relatively good air quality … and outlines the significant improvements that have been made in the Greater Bay Area which today enjoys more "blue skies" days than ever before.
Additionally, the Ministry has documented the significant advances in air quality due to the West-to-East Electricity Transmission Project.
Up to November 30, China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (CSG) has transmitted 213.1 TWh of electricity from China's western areas to its eastern regions, with an annual output, for three consecutive years, surpassing 200 TWh, among which Yunnan Province contributed to more than 60% of clean hydropower.
China Southern Power Grid's hydropower utilization rate has now reached 99.6% (overall) and 99.3% within Yunnan Province.
