An open day event was recently held at Vinh Tan 1 Power Plant to introduce the project's current operations after one year's commercial process of the two power-generating units.
Representatives of local citizens and mainstream media were also in attendance at the event.
Over the past year the Vinh Tan 1 Power Plant, spearheaded by China Southern Power Grid, has provided more than 8.686 TWh of electricity, meeting the daily power consumption demands of more than eight million Vietnamese residents, which has greatly boosted Vietnam's economic and social development.
The construction of the power plant, from design to operation, was based on Chinese market-leading technology and equipment. The plant is a "Brand of China"established in Vietnam, reflecting the capacity of China's power industrial chain to "go global".
During its first contract year the Vinh Tan 1 Power Plant generated more than 8.686 TWh of electricity with annual available hours reaching 7,238. This indicator not only sets a new record in Vietnam, but has also far exceeded that of similar power plants in China with the annual available hours of similar domestic power plants is about 4,000 hours.
