The Three Gorges Reservoir embraced its first round of floods this year at 14:00 on June 23, with the inflow reaching a rate of 31,000m3/second, according to the real-time water condition monitoring results at the cascade dispatch center of China Yangtze Power.
As a pivotal flood control operations complex, the Three Gorges Reservoir managed to keep its daily outflow at a rate of 23,000m3/second, clipping nearly 23% of the flood peak and greatly alleviating the flooding risk in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
