Liu Zhenya Met with IHA Chief Executive Richard Taylor

Liu briefed Taylor on GEIDCO's recent and top priorities this year. He pointed out that GEIDCO is actively deepening the planning research and system design of Global Energy Interconnection (GEI), accelerating the establishment of the African Energy Interconnection Sustainable Development Alliance (AEISDA), and promoting key interconnection projects. Building on the previous successful cooperations, GEIDCO and IHA stand ready to strengthen communication, jointly promote cross-cutting research and cooperation, and contribute more to clean development of the world for the benefits of all mankind.

Taylor remarked that IHA paid close attention to issues such as clean energy interconnection, grid integration and resource sharing, as clean energy was crucial to future energy system. IHA would like to work with GEIDCO to promote sustainable clean energy and hydropower, and implement the goals of the Paris Agreement and the "UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development", in an effort to build a more reliable, efficient and affordable energy system.

Founded in 1995, IHA is an influential non-profit membership organization in the hydropower sector. It is committed to working with its members and partners around the world to advance sustainable hydropower's role in meeting the world's growing demand for water and energy.
