Heads of POWERCHINA and GE meet for cooperation
Yan Zhiyong, president of POWERCHINA, met a delegation led by John Flannery, chairman and CEO of General Electric Company (GE), at the POWERCHINA headquarters in Beijing on July 9.
The two sides reviewed their strategic cooperation agreement, discussed issues related to overseas business development and signed a new memorandum of cooperation on related projects.
Yan introduced POWERCHINA's situation in the fields of energy and power, water resources and environment, and infrastructure, as well as its overseas market strategy and latest achievements.
He pointed out that POWERCHINA will explore innovative cooperation modes with GE and deepen cooperation in international finance and engineering design.
Flannery expressed GE's desire to cooperate with POWERCHINA in more areas.
The two sides agreed that the meeting is a starting point for further cooperation. They reached a consensus on the cooperation mode concerning project planning, co-financing, advanced technology application, and talent training.
