SPIC Reached Total Installed PV Capacity of 10 GW
On August 31, 2017, the 100 MW ground-mounted PV power plant, located in the Solar Eco Power Generation Industrial Park in Hainan Prefecture in Qinghai and owned by SPIC subsidiary Huanghe Hydropower Development, realized the connection to the grid. By now, SPIC has realized 10.02 GW of installed PV capacity in operation, a landmark for a new development stage.
Since its first PV power plant—Sangri PV Power Plant in Tibet was put into operation in 2010, SPIC has been sparing no efforts to bolster the R&D, manufacturing and construction on the PV power industry chain, and promote the scientific and technological innovations of clean energy and the application of R&D achievements with the ultimate goal of building the world’s leading PV power generator.
By the end of this August, the PV power business of SPIC has covered 27 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) of China as well as Japan. With the total installed PV capacity continuously topping the world, SPIC has been the largest operator of PV power plants in the world.
