CSG & Royal Group of Cambodia Renews MOU on Power Grid Investment/Cooperation
Mr. Li Qingkui, Chairman of Board of China Southern Power Grid (CSG) (http://eng.csg.cn) and Mr. Okhna Kith Meng, Chairman of the Royal Group of Cambodia, renewed the far reaching MOU on Power Grid Investment and Cooperation on October 13, 2016.
The memorandum of understanding between CSG and the Royal Group establishes the framework for a stable, long-term relationship.
Under the MOU framework, the two parties will further their active and practical cooperation to achieve mutual benefits and common development.
Before the signing ceremony, the two parties held meetings on key issues including the implementation of the MOU and further cooperation.
Mr. Li extended his warm welcome to the visiting delegation led by Mr. Meng, stating that, “CSG and the Royal Group has established solid friendship and have made progress in mutual cooperation”. He said that the two parties “could make a practical stride forward in their cooperation, so as to turn visions into reality and continuously refresh this important friendship”.
China Southern Power Grid and the China Huaneng Group recently signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement, aiming at implementing the "Belt and Road" initiative and jointly promoting power grid interconnection and power trade. This new MOU agreement is also an attempt to work out a three-party cooperation model to strengthen future cooperation throughout the international community.
According to Mr. Meng, “with the growing bilateral trade and investment as well as the promising cooperation between China and Cambodia, I am confident that the extended MOU will be an opportunity for CSG and the Royal Group of Cambodia to make further cooperations and greater achievements in the future”.
He added the Royal Group of Cambodia and China Huaneng Group are also cooperating on multiple projects, the cooperation is going well and expressed his desire that the three parties could strengthen their cooperation in Cambodia.
Mr. Meng also introduced the planning of the 500kV power transmission line in Cambodia and said that he expected CSG to offer strong support in research on project evaluation and information data.
CSG and the Royal Group of Cambodia have been making frequent exchanges with a joint working group established to exchange issues such as power planning and project development as the mutual trust and cooperation between the two parties continues to mature.
Participants in the signing ceremony also included: Vice President Thomas Pianka, Vice President Ouk Vora and Chief Financial Officer Mark Hanna of the Royal Group and heads of the CSG's Administration Office, Planning and Development Dept., International Cooperation Dept. and the CSG Yunnan International Co., Ltd.
