China’s only integrated renewable energy event, Clean Energy Expo China 2013 (CEEC 2013), took place at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from July 3 to 5. Based once again on the theme "Sustainable Solutions for China's Energy Future", CEEC 2013 featured new energy power generation, grid access technologies and equipment, solar photovoltaic(PV), solar thermal utilization,solar thermal power generation, wind energy and biomass energy, as well as new technologies and products in fields such as distributed energy.
The three-day event brought together over 300 exhibitors from around the world, attracting over 16,000 professional visitors, to become one of the largest and most far-reaching clean energy exhibitions in China. Two pavilions, led by the European Union Small and Medium Enterprises Centre (EU SME Centre) and the US respectively, boasted an eye-opening array of exhibits and solutions together with a contingent of exhibitors headed by the Shenzhen municipal government.
Gracing the opening ceremony on July 3 were leaders from major power enterprises and embassy representatives of various countries as well as over 500 executives of foreign and local business institutions in China. Mr. Sun Yucai, secretary of the Party Leadership Group and executive vice chairman of CEC, addressed the opening ceremony of CEEC 2013. Mr. Yang Kun, chief engineer of the National Energy Administration; Mr Robin M Welling, president of the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation (ESTIF) and Mr Ragnar Baldursson, minister-counselor at the Embassy of Iceland in China, delivered speeches respectively.
