Bình Thu?n, Vietnam - Lê Hoài Trung, Secretary-General of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation and Li Junfeng, Deputy Governor of Bình Thu?n Province recently joined together with other 10 officials to inspect the Vinh Tan Project in Vietnam.

Mr. Xu Jinglun, General Manager of Vinh Tan Thermal Power Company, briefed the group on their work and the significant accomplishments made during its inspection of the project site.
According to Mr. Xu, the Vinh Tan project was placed into operation on November 26, 2018 and the generation capacity in Year 2019 reached 8.868 TWh, a record high among the generator sets of the same type in Vietnam.
Since it was placed on-line, the Vinh Tan project has made significant contributions to alleviate electric power shortages in Southern Vietnam, creating a large number of jobs for local people, thus upgrading Vietnam's national power system and ensuing economic development.
The project proactively advanced CSG’s Corporate Social Responsibility missions in bettering local community educational opportunities and transport infrastructure … and senior managers of China Southern Power Grid have been credited with fully engaging with the community to help better the lives of people in poverty, donating the construction and local staffing of elementary schools and the building of new public roads.
China Southern Power Grid has been honored for its many positive contributions to industry, business, and social economy by the Bình Thu?n Provincial Government, and by Vietnam Electricity, the largest power company in Vietnam, for its outstanding performance in investments, development, operation and management and by creating a robust power supply that benefits all of Vietnam’s populous.
Faced with the numerous challenges crated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Company has made substantial efforts to carry out numerous measures to prevent the disease while the ensuring safe and stable operation of the project.
In May 2020, the two generator sets of the project produced 898GWh of electricity, a record high in a single month since they were placed into operation.
To date, the two generator sets have generated more than 6 billion kWh of power per annum, offering stable power supplies for social and economic activities throughout Vietnam.
Xu Jinglun of Vinh Tan Thermal Power Company accompanied the inspection.
Mr. Lê Hoài Trung said that the Vinh Tan Project, “is technologically advanced and significant project and vital symbol of friendship between China and Vietnam.”
He was gratified to see the many achievements of the project in development and operation.
“China and Vietnam are neighbors,” said Mr. Lê, adding, “Vietnam values its diplomatic relationship with China and will never forget the assistance from China during our hardest time. We'd like to see this bilateral cooperation moving forward in creating mutual benefits and win-win scenarios. We also welcome China’s high-tech companies to invest in Vietnam.”
Mr. Lê also spoke highly of the Vinh Tan Thermal Power Company as all senior managers, engineers and staff have strictly complied with the local laws, especially those regarding environmental protection.
In the future, Mr. Lê said China Southern Power Grid should motivate its Chinese and Vietnamese employees to work shoulder to shoulder and give priority to the full use of ash and slag to protect the environment and fully meet its Corporate Social Responsibilities.
Mr. Lê also provided a briefing on Vietnam's express entry set up during the pandemic.
