The First 220kV Switching Station of the External Power Supply Project in the China Part of the China-Laos Railway Begins Service

The 220kV Chacheng Switching Station

Yunnan - On May 26, the 220kV Chacheng Switching Station was placed  into operation by the Xishuangbanna Power Supply Bureau of the Yunnan Power Grid Company. This is the first switching station of the 220kV External Power Supply Project in the China section of the China-Laos Railway that has been placed into service.
In total, three 220kV switching stations will be constructed to serve the project in the China segment of the railway. Once placed into operation, these stations will supply reliable electrical power to varied traction substations on the China segment of the China-Laos Railway project.
At present, one 220kV switching station and six circuits of 220kV lines are already in operation with and 243 kilometers of electrical lines and 520 steel towers have been newly built to support this massive rail project.
