Wang Jiuling Attends the East Asia Summit Clean Energy Forum

On November 18 the East Asia Summit Clean Energy Forum was held in Haikou. The event was initiated by the National Energy Administration and the ASEAN Energy Center and organised by CSG. A number of senior officials attended the opening ceremony, including Zhang Yuqing, Deputy Minister of National Energy Administration,Li Fulin, Vice Governor of Hainan, Sanjayan Velautham Director of the ASEAN Energy Center, Ni Qiang, Mayor of Haikou, Zheng Shengan, President of Water Resources and Hydropower Planning and Wang Jiuling, Vice President of CSG.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Jiuling congratulated the conference on behalf of CSG and said that “ CSG always implements the national energy policy, adhere to green development concept and seek international green energy cooperation. We propose long term goals for development consistent with One Belt and One Road initiative. We hope that we can carry out multi-level and wide-ranging energy cooperation in East Asia and better serve the economic development of countries in East Asia.”

The forum lasted two days and the theme was “ green energy network and economic and social development”. It proposed the idea of “green energy network”. There was four parallel sessions, including nuclear energy, photovoltaic, power and smart energy cities. On the power grid session, CSG’s Safety Supervision Department representative presided over the power outage emergency exercises discussions. CSG’s Chief Engineer Xu Chaoying made a speech entitled CSG’s Contingency on Electricity Supply Interruption. A video was played to present the experiences. CSG officials also attended the dialogue in other sessions and talked about cross-border cooperation programs and networking. Over 300 officials in energy and finance, scholars and company representatives attended the forum, with country backgrounds from the United States, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, the ASEAN Energy Center, the International Energy Agency, the Asian Development Bank.

CSG officials from the General Office, Planning Department, International Department, Safety Supervision Department, System Operations Department and Hainan Power Grid attended the forum.
