On September 25, the 1st GMS Countries Power Grid Planning and Construction Technology Exchange and Training Program was concluded in Kunming City, Yunnan Province. This is CSG’s first electric technology exchange and training program in cooperation with Mekong Institute and started a new mode of cooperation with GMS countries.
The training program lasted for 3 weeks, and 27 intermediate-level technical and management staff from the electric power agencies or companies of 6 GMS countries participated. Lectures on power grid planning and project construction were given and field trips to convertor stations, substations, wind farms and hydro power stations were organized.
The 3-week program was a good platform and opportunity for technical as well as cultural exchanges. In their spare time, participants had a good experience of Chinese culture by learning to play Taichi, sing Chinese songs and write Chinese characters. They became good friends during the program. On the day of completion, participants expressed their attachment to China and best wishes for the development of GMS countries by drawing pictures.
