Since 18, January, 2015, battles in North Myanmar escalated . Myanmar government army waged a battle against Kokang local armed forces on 9, February. More than 50,00 Myanmar refugees flooded into the territory of Yunnan province. CSG actively assisted the local government and adopted a number of measures to ensure power supply at refugee settlement in the bordering areas between Yunnan and KoKang. Currently, power supply to the bordering area and refugee shelters is safe.
Yunnan Power Grid convened an emergency meeting, local power bureau activated foreign-related emergency three- level response, made contingency response plan and power supply plan.
Yunnan Power Grid conducted special line patrol , maintenance and repair of power transmission lines to Myanmar. At present, CSG has secured reliable and safe power supply to KoKang and Myanmar.
In particular, Yunnan Power Grid made special arrangements to ensure power supply to seven refugee shelters (including Zhenkang County and Gengma County). Yunnan Power Grid dispatched 109 emergency response staff and a batch of emergency supplies to four shelters. CSG staff worked on-site to ensure 24/7 power supply. CSG intensified power supply safety patrols to refugee settlements.
To ensure a safe and reliable power supply, CSG assigned more security staff to key transmission lines and stations, strengthened patrol of key equipments and key lines. CSG practiced and enhanced employee safety training.
