Supporting COP15 with Uninterruptible Power Supplies

Kunming - On October 11, the first phase of the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the Convention on Biological Diversity kicked off here in Kunming, Yunnan Province.
As an offfical service provider to the conference, China Southern Power Grid has made every possible engineering effort to ensure reliable power protection.
CSG senior managers directed the strengthening of the massive power grid by establishing specific control mechanism with an accuracy of one second which then dramatically improved the coordination between professional departments and the application of new devices and techniques.
Company senior managers also extended its staff customer services to broader aspects which in turn managed to gain a general overview of every power consumption demand - be it industrial, business or personal customers.
Senior managers directing tthe Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau of Guangdong Power Grid Corporation, a subsidiary of CSG, then mobilized electrical experts, fortified with the necessary equipment to assist in emergency power supply monitoring in Kunming.
Forty-five professionals from local bureaus of the Yunnan Power Grid Corporation and the Yunnan Electric Power Research Institute also provided on-site support.
Concurrently, China Southern Power Grid senior managers deployed the Company’s broad province-wide resources, including more than:
·Twenty power generation vehicles
·Eight stationed vehicles for uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
·Twenty-eight mobile UPS devices, and
·Two supercapacitors that could enable smooth switch between the regular and emergency power sources.
Together, these measures guaranteed uninterrupted power supplies to the COP15.
