The launch of the Tianwen-1 Mars Probe
CSG power supply workers are witnessing the launch of Tianwen-1 Probe.
At precisely 12:41, on the afternoon of Thursday July 23, China launched its first probe to the planet Mars.
The probe was launched from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center (WSLC) and carried by Long March 5 Heavy-lift Rocket.
At 13:25, the rocket successfully placed the probe into geosynchronous orbit to mark China's first mission to Mars and a bold leap forward into deep space exploration.
China Southern Power Grid fulfilled the extraordinary task of providing all electricity supplies for this historic launch.
This task involved:
·Eight key areas
·19 essential transformer stations
·29 transmission lines, and
·13 distribution lines
To meet the demand of frequent rocket launches from this space complex, the Hainan Power Grid Company has been tasked with and carried out the standardized management of electricity supplies on a permanent basis as well as formulating the “Program of Permanent Power Supply for Launch Missions in WSLC”, under which Hainan Power Grid performed its daily work at the highest standards of professionalism.
