CSG & Huawei Ink New Strategic Cooperation Agreement

CSG and Huawei sign a strategic cooperation agreement in Shenzhen.

Shenzhen - China Southern Power Grid and Huawei Technologies Ltd., Co. have signed a strategic cooperation agreement – aimed at strengthening strategic synergy and expanding and improve cooperation - thus fueling smart power grid construction and energy industry upgrades.

This new partnership is expected to not only bring mutual benefits to both organizations but help implement regional development strategies of national importance, including the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the construction of Shenzhen as a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

It is expected that the five provinces (Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan) in Southern China will also “gather momentum from it for their socioeconomic growth.”

The agreement signing was witnessed by:

• Mr. Meng Zhenping, Board Chairman of CSG

• Mr. Cao Zhi’an, President and Board Director of CSG

• Mr. Xu Zhijun, Rotating Chairman of Huawei

• Mr. Chen Yunpeng, Vice President of CSG, and

• Mr. Cai Yinghua, President of Huawei EBG China who also signed the document for strategic cooperation on behalf of the two companies.

According to Mr. Meng, CSG and Huawei, “have reaped benefits from the cooperation in various fields. Now, CSG is pursuing strategic transition with the digitalization of its businesses as a main channel.”

Mr. Meng said that by, “enhancing strategic synergy and establishing cooperative mechanisms, the two parties can better promote their win-win cooperation in digitalization, smart grid, network security, electric power communication and international business. CSG will continue to support Huawei with reliable, convenient, efficient and quality electricity services.”

Mr. Xu said, “Huawei is pooling its efforts to create Kunpeng Ecology based on the Kunpeng processor, which is said to be the industry's highest-performance ARM-based server CPU to date. Huawei will leverage its strength in ICT to support CSG’s digitalization endeavor and ensure the grid security of CSG.”

Mr. Xu expressed his hope that both sides, “can work together to foster deeper cooperation in relevant fields, achieving common development.”

Within the terms of the agreement, the two companies have agreed to join hands in, “expanding business in the digitalization of the power industry, create an open energy ecological system, establish CSG’s grid security system and communications facilities and develop application standards of 5G technologies in power industry, with the aim to improve their industrial and international influence.”
