CSG Earns Multiple CSR Accolades

Shanghai - China Southern Power Grid was honored with the “Golden Bee” Award for its annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report at the 9th International Conference on CSR Reporting in China.

Hosted at Grand Kempinski Shanghai Hotel, the event was co-sponsored by China WTO Tribune, China Business Council for Sustainable Development (CBCSD) and the Swedish Embassy in China.

In addition, China Southern Power Grid was recognized as an “Excellent Company” at the 2016 China CSR Award Ceremonies, co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and the Research Center for CSR of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Among the authoritative critiques made by China WTO Tribune in its GBEE-CRAS2016 assessment system, the first one of its kind in China, CSG’s 2015 CSR Report “stood out from the 1,328 reports issued on the mainland during the first 10 months of 2016”.

China Southern Power Grid again earned significant accolades, including the Award for Evergreen Enterprise, indicating that “CSG is among the top in CSR report formulation and leads the trend of CSR report development”.

With its vivid performance of implementing China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” and policy of targeted poverty alleviation, allocating upstream and downstream resources, serving agriculture development of rural areas and farmers, combating severe natural disasters and guaranteeing power supply, CSG was presented with the 2016 CSR Excellence Award, which once again shows the company’s mission of “providing safe, reliable electricity to boost economic development”.

According to the Blue Book of Corporate Social Responsibility (2016) released by the Research Center for CSR of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on October 30, 2016, CSG ranked No. 1 in the Top 300 Chinese enterprises; Top 100 state-owned enterprises and CSR development index of power industry.

This is China Southern Power Grid’s second top ranking after 2014 and the third place for five consecutive years.
