On the occasion of the Sixth National Poverty Alleviation Day, the Company continues this dedicated effort to win the fight against poverty with set goals that must be completed during the remainder of this Year 2019 and Year 2020.
It is estimated that by the end of Year 2019, 95% of the country's current poverty-stricken population will be lifted out of poverty, and more than 90% of poor counties will be removed.
China Southern Power Grid senior managers attach great importance to poverty alleviation and these dedicated Company starting point planning, high standards, accurate assistance and meticulous service, tackling difficulties and perseverance, giving full play to the advantages of enterprises in poverty alleviation and forming a pattern of poverty alleviation.
The Company promotes poverty alleviation and targeted poverty alleviation throughout the power industry. Since the 18th National Party Congress, China Southern Power Grid has helped 590 poverty-stricken points and more than 260,000 people to achieve poverty alleviation.
In this specific work, the Company explores this "poverty alleviation path" with the characteristics of the South Network.

This responsibility of ridding poverty from South China burns deeply in the heart of all China Southern Power Grid senior managers and staff. In recent years, the Company has taken advantage of advancements in the power industry to transform and upgrade the rural power grid.
China Southern Power Grid senior managers have worked tirelessly to solve the challenges of low voltage in the poverty-stricken areas of the five provinces and regions in South China.
According to Su Shunwei who lives in the rural village of Yanfan, Tianfan County, Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the autumn season has always been one of harvest. Relying on the income derived from more than 130 acres of banana planting, Mr. Su's income during Year 2018 reached more than 600,000 yuan, which propelled him to one of the village leadership roles.
Mr. Su explained that, "water and fertilizer integrated automatic sprinkler systems has become one of the 'magic weapons' of banana planting, and sufficient electricity is the 'opening key' of the magic weapon."
Mr. Su said that past artificial watering and fertilizing, “only allowed for the fertilization of 1 mu of land a day but with the current modern spray systems, the two can fertilize 40 acres of land a day. The amount of water in the spray is very accurate and the output of bananas will significantly increase and likewise the income of the villagers increases steadily.”
Ample electrical power is giving more possibilities to people working land in impoverished areas.
At present, the three key indicators are the factors relating to the rural power grid of China Southern Power Grid:
• The reliability rate of power supplies is 99.85%
• The comprehensive voltage pass rate is 99.68%, and
• The average distribution capacity of households reaches 2.25 kVA, which meets the national requirements and electricity for rural areas
This volume growth rate is higher than the average level of electricity consumption growth in each province.
The demand for electricity for poverty alleviation is not static. Each quarter, China Southern Power Grid senior managers actively engage with local governments, at all levels, to ensure timely collection and accurate control of electricity demands.
