Conquering the Final Fortress of Poverty（1）

Guangzhou - In a world that judges’ corporate success upon successful Corporate Social Responsibility community outreach, China Southern Power Grid continues to make major strides in alleviating poverty in key metropolitan markets throughout the Company’s key South China provinces.

Here are just some of the major milestones that China Southern Power Grid has recently accomplished:

● In Year 2019, the Company arranged a new round of rural network transformation and upgrading investment of 30.4 billion yuan, including 17.74 billion yuan in poverty-stricken areas.

● By the end of August 2019, the Company's new round of rural network transformation and upgrade completed an investment of 20.9 billion yuan, completing 78.8% of the annual investment plan, including the completion of agricultural network investment in poverty-stricken areas of 13.8 billion yuan, completing 78.3% of the annual investment plan.

● Among the 56 cities (states) in the Company's power supply area, 34 cities (states) have “two rates and one household” to achieve the national new round of rural network transformation and upgrading targets, of which the compliance rate in Guangdong is 100%.

● By the end of August 2019, the Company completed 1,810 (including continuous construction projects) supporting land for poverty alleviation and ecological resettlement projects, and completed an investment of 160 million yuan, benefiting relocated populations of 148,000 and 590,000 people.

● Completed 174 industrial poverty alleviation supporting power grid projects; completed an investment of 53.99 million yuan which directly benefited 6,845 households and 30,038 people living in poverty, and

● Completed 68 photovoltaic power generation supporting power grid projects, directly benefiting 8,847 rural people.

Poverty Alleviation Outreach

● Since the 18th National Party Congress, the Company invested 300 million yuan in industrial investment funds of poverty-stricken areas of central enterprises to support the development of industries in poverty-stricken areas.

● Accumulatively undertaken 839 fixed-point poverty alleviation tasks arranged by the State Council's Poverty Alleviation Office and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission in Guangxi Donglan County, Yunnan Weixi County, and the five party provinces and governments in the south.

● Accumulatively invested 435 million yuan in targeted poverty alleviation funds, helping 590 poverty-stricken points and 260,000 people to achieve poverty alleviation.

● There are 591 poverty alleviation points that the Company is currently assisting and posting 733 poverty alleviation cadres to assist a poverty-stricken population of more than 337,000.

● In Year 2019, more than 110 million yuan will be invested for targeted poverty alleviation - an increase of more than 50% over Year 2018, and

● During Year 2019, it is expected that no less than 70,000 people will be lifted out of poverty and the rate of poverty alleviation will reach 98% or more.

Year 2019 has been a crucial year for these (and many other) victorious efforts by China Southern Power Grid.
