On August 28, Khammany Inthirath, Minister of Energy and Mines of Laos, and his delegation, accompanied by Wang Liangyou, Vice President of CSG, visited Chuxiong ±800 kV Converter Station. The two sides made discussion and exchanges on topics like how to improve power technologies and strengthen power cooperation.
Wang welcomed the delegation, and thanked Khammany Inthirath for his long-standing support to CSG. The Vice President said that the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Laos played a critical role in power cooperation across the Greater Mekong Sub-region, and Electricite du Laos and CSG also enjoyed a solid foundation for cooperation. CSG would continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mines as well as power companies in Laos.
Khammany Inthirath and his delegation paid a visit to the station’s DC field, control building, converter transformer square etc., and listened to the introduction to the technological features and equipment operations of Yunguang UHVDC Project. He noted that in recent years Laos had been expanding its development of power resources and committing to the goal of turning itself into “Southeast Asia’s accumulator”. CSG, with cutting-edge power technologies and experience, can render support to Laos in achieving the goal.
