CSG’s West-to-East Power Transmission Volume Reaches a New High for Four Successive Years

In 2015, CSG had completed west-to-east power transmission volume of 189.1TWh with 10% year-on-year growth, reaching a high peak for four years continuously. Clean hydroelectricity accounts for 70% of the total volume. At present, CSG has sixteen 500 kV or above transmission lines (8 AC and 8 DC lines), delivering electricity from west to east with a maximum transmission capacity over 35 GW. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, CSG’s added capacity reached 11.4 GW and the transmitted electricity volume amounted to over 715TWh, contributing to the optimal allocation of west-east resources, regional coordinated development and win-win cooperation.

To ensure the stable and efficient operation of west-to-east main grids, CSG tried its best to strengthen the maintenance of its main grids, especially the DC lines. In 2015, the availability ratio of comprehensive DC volume reached 96.7%, ranking at a relatively high level of over 96% for five years successively. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the availability ratio of the 500 kV Guizhou-Guangdong one-circuit and two-circuit DC volume ranked first in China for four times. Meanwhile, through strengthened communication and coordination with all relevant parties, CSG has basically solved the interaction between the Conghua grounded pole of the ±500 kV Xiluodu DC Transmission Project, as well as the oil and gas pipelines of petroleum companies. CSG has also overcome the long-term construction obstacles and invested in the ±800 kV Nuozhadu DC Grounded Pole Project, preparing for full load transmission during the summer peak.
