Beijing - The 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games came to a close on February 20, as China Southern Power Grid played a vital role in insuring an ongoing power supply during the Games. During the Closing Ceremony, Liu Qihong, the deputy manager of CSG, was on duty in the Emergency Command Center.
During the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games, CSG’s operational areas encountered several rounds of bitter low temperatures as well as rain and snow which brought numerous challenges to the consistent power supply.
With immediate actions and prompt measures, power supply efforts involving de-icing of specific public surfaces were carried out each day. With a daily average input of more than 40,000 personnel, 800 power generating vehicles, 9,000 generators and 10,000 lighting equipment, the power grid operated safely as electrical power was in abundant supply. With these and many more efforts, the special power supply to the Games was successfully provided.
The 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics is slated to be held from March 4 to 13 … and China Southern Power Grid will continue to guarantee its power supply for this important global event.
