The West-to-East Power Transmission Project started on August, 1993. By the end of 31, December, 2014, Yunnan Power Grid transmitted a total of 352.2 TWH electricity in 21 years. The company’s power transmission was 88.65 TWH in 2014, with a maximum load of 18.5GW, representing 161 times and 74 times increase of the year 1993 capacity. Hydro power transmission from Yunnan to the east by Yunnan Power Grid has played an active role in achieving optimized resource allocation, maximum use of clean energy and facilitate coordinated development of the west and east provinces.
