By the end of 31, December,2014, CSG’s annual West-to-East power transmission hit a historic high record at 171.3TWH. It was the first time for CSG to exceed 150 TWH , transmitting 12.9TWH of more electricity than the original plan. The record presented 30% growth rate and helped a reduction of 50 million tons of standard coal (fossil fuel equivalents) consumption, 130 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reduction, and 967,000 tons of carbon sulfur emission reduction. The West-to-East project is a solid move to implement national Western Development Initiative , has facilitated energy conservation , emission reduction and has made active contribution to coordinated development and mutual benefits of west and east provinces.
CSG’s West-to-East power transmission made a steady increase in the past three years. According to in-house statistics, CSG’s West-to-East power transmission reached 124.3TWH in 2012. Among them, approximate 70 TWH of hydro power was transmitted. West-to-East power transmission hit 131.4TWH in 2013, and close to 80Twh of hydro power was transmitted. West-to-East power transmission hit 171.3TWH in 2014, and close to 120Twh of hydro power was transmitted . The West-to-East project maximized usage of hydro power in west provinces. The highest daily electricity sale was 0.76TWH, and in August alone, 21.9 TWH of electricity was sold. The highest daily electricity sale from Yunnan Province to Guangdong Province was 0.42TWH, setting an unprecedented record .
