The 2nd 500 KV Outgoing Line of Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plan put into operation

Recently, Guangxi Power Grid Company completed and put into operation the first nuclear power project, the second 500 KV Outgoing Line of Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant, in West China. The project further improved the reliability of power supply of the 500 KV grid in Fangchenggang.

It is understood that the total electric power capacity of Guangxi is 30.915 MW, with hydro, thermal and wind power accounting for 49.7%, 49.9% and 0.4% respectively. After completion of the project, nuclear power will take up 10% of the electricity mix, marking a historical change for Guangxi. Meanwhile, the project is expected to transmit 15 TWh of electricity to Guangxi Power Grid annually. It will be a great boost for the economic transformation of Guangxi by saving 6 million tons of coal and increasing 100,000 hectares of forest.
