Vice President Wang Liangyou Meets with the Vice-Chancellor of University of Birmingham

On September 7, Mr. Wang Liangyou, Vice President of CSG met with Mr. David Eastwood, Vice-Chancellor of University of Birmingham, and his delegation. On behalf of CSG, Wang signed a memorandum of understanding with University of Birmingham.

David Eastwood introduced University of Birmingham’s recent achievements on energy studies. He stressed that the reform in energy sector and the development of smart grids would become a common challenge faced by both sides. The Chancellor also commented: “University of Birmingham and CSG have always been in sound cooperative relationship, and we hope further cooperation will be made to support CSG’s development in technological innovation and thus to achieve a win-win situation.”

Wang indicated CSG’s consistent and open attitude towards scientific and technological progress. In recent years, CSG has cooperated with counterparts from home and abroad to conduct a number of exploring researches on smart grids and new energy. “The cooperation between CSG and University of Birmingham,” he noted, “has realized a complementarity of each other’s advantages.” Furthermore, the Vice President called on both sides to conduct multi-level communications and push forward cooperation through teams and platforms. He also hoped for deeper research and cooperation on smart grids, intelligent power supply, detection of electrical devices and energy storage.
