To ensure safe and smooth operation of Yunnan asynchronous interconnection, the Extra High Voltage Power Transmission Company, power grid companies of five provinces, CSG Electric Power Research Institute and related power plants launched an overall verification test from March 28 to March 31.
It is said that the test is aimed at verifying the coordination and stability of the grid operation after the main grid of CSG and the Yunnan grid have realized asynchronous interconnection. Being first in China, the test is vital in verifying the accuracy of the grid analysis and computation, and improving the effectiveness of follow-up modeling and control. At 14:32, March 28, Yunnan grid and the main grid of CSG disconnected the last AC connection switch. The system operated stably and all the indicators were normal, marking Yunnan grid historically entered the stage of asynchronous interconnection. It is said that a series of tests including stable operation test, small disturbance test and large disturbance test will be run on Yunnan grid in asynchronous interconnection to verify its operation characteristics.
The working achievements of Yunnan asynchronous interconnection can serve as a reference for the future east and west groups’ development of Guangdong grid, optimizing CSG’s grid structure and greatly improving the safe, economical and environmentally-friendly operation of the system.
