BoAo, China - The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2018 saw President Xi Jinping delivered the keynote address, entitled “Openness for Greater Prosperity, Innovation for a Better Future”.
In his remarks, President Xi reviewed the remarkable achievements and precious experience of reform and opening up over the past 40 years, and analyzed the global trend of peace and cooperation for development. He not only proposed to jointly build an Asia and a world of peace, tranquility, prosperity, openness and beauty, but also expressed, “China’s firm belief to cooperate with other countries by deepening opening up’.
This speech struck an important chord with the attendants and attracted significant attention from the international community.
Mr. Li Qingkui, China Southern Power Grid’s Board Chairman, attended the opening ceremony held in the main venue of the BFA International Conference Center.
During the afternoon breakout session, held by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Mr. Li joined a group discussion with other heads of central enterprises to learn from President Xi’s comments.
They shared their understanding with each other, and reached consensus that Mr. Xi’s speech not only enhanced global confidence in China’s sustainable and sound economic development, but also showcased China’s determination, mission and responsibility to develop large and strong state-owned enterprises.
They said that by grasping the spirit of President Xi’s speech and seizing these important opportunities, they would make efforts to pursue high-quality development by implementing relevant policies and continuing to deepen reform and opening up.
Mr. Li also attended the China-Japan CEOs Dialogue and proposed strengthening the cooperation between Chinese and Japanese enterprises for mutual benefits and greater contributions to friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Japan.
While speaking with representatives of Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs at the conference, President Xi Jinping added, “we should spare no efforts to continue reform and opening up. We aim to make this policy more mature to pursue high-quality development and governance so that people can have a sense of gain, happiness and security.”
Mr. Li was also invited to and attended this forum.
During the conference, Mr. Li attended additional events such as a lunch meeting organized by Guangdong provincial government and Guangdong Investment Promotion Conference, and a business breakfast meeting organized by the Hainnan provincial government.
Mr. Li held talks with Jan Adams, Australia’s ambassador to China, and they exchanged in-depth views on deepening cooperation in the Belt and Road Initiative in the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration.
Additionally. Mr. Li and He Xiaopeng, Board Chairman of Xiaopeng Motors, discussed how to meet people’s demand for diversity of life by strengthening cooperation in new energy vehicles and “smart” transportation.
Mr. Xu Daming, CSG’s Assistant President and Director General of General Office, and heads of CSG’s International Cooperation Department and Hainan Power Grid Company also attended these key Boao Forum events.
