China Southern Power Grid’s Successful Mission to Supply Reliable Power Supplies for the Launch of China's Largest Carrier Rocket Long March-5

Wenchang, Hainan - At 8:45 p.m., on Friday December 27, with the successful launch of China's largest carrier rocket Long March-5, the Hainan Power Grid Co., Ltd., completed its mission to provide vibrant power supplies for this important space project.

To guarantee the required power supplies for this historic rocket launch … Hainan Power Grid senior managers focused on six key functioning areas:

·15 important transformer substations

·27 transmission lines, and

·11 distribution lines

With the rock-solid commitment to providing reliable power supplies for the launch center and the subsequent successful launch, Hainan Power Grid senior managers organized an additional of 83 measures to assure the safety of the power grid, equipment and security of power supplies, services and the interconnected Internet communication.

During this time-sensitive period to support the launch of the Long March-5, Hainan Power Grid senior manager also focused staff on the concurring steady flow of electrical energy of the power grid, and halted maintenance and operations that could potentially impact the quality of the provided electrical power.

On the day of the launch, the Company allocated the following:

·Key personnel to staff specific important line sections

·Assisted local law enforcement in patrolling key transformer substations

·Coordinated with the launch control center, and

·Arranged the police patrol of important areas such as traffic intersections and high-speed train railways.

Since 2016, Hainan Power Grid has invested more than 1.47 billion RMB to build a robust power grid in Wenchang and has been a reliable power supplier to the Wenchang Space Launch Center in the completion of four space launch missions.
