Chairman Zhao Jianguo Met with Duong Quang Thanh, Chairman of EVN

On July 17, Mr. Zhao Jianguo, Chairman of CSG met with Mr. Duong Quang Thanh, Chairman of EVN in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam. They exchanged views on issues related to the Vinh Tan thermal power plant project and on strengthening electricity purchasing and transmission. They also expressed willingness to continually deepen cooperation. Mr. Wang Jiuling, Vice President of CSG was in company with Mr. Zhao at the meeting.

Mr. Duong welcomed the delegation led by Mr. Zhao. He expressed admiration for the cooperation of both parties in electricity purchasing and transmission in the past decade and congratulated CSG on the upcoming launching of construction of the Vinh Tan project. Mr. Duong also thanked CSG for its selfless assistance in 2008 and 2009 when Vietnam was in bad need of electricity supply. Mr. Duong pointed out that EVN had done a lot of work in guaranteeing water and electricity usage of the Vinh Tan project and would continue to support the project. Lastly, he put forward suggestions and feedback on cooperation projects of electricity purchasing and transmission.

Mr. Zhao thanked the support which EVN had given to the Vinh Tan project. He introduced in detail CSG’s latest development in 2015, especially progress of the Vinh Tan project, and responded to EVN’s suggestions of further cooperation. Mr. Zhao said that both parties had good cooperation in electricity purchasing and transmission in the past decade and he was well satisfied with the implementation of the agreement on electricity purchasing. He hoped that both parties, on the basis of a market mechanism, could conduct in-depth negotiation and cooperation with the same goal of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation. Mr. Zhao invited Mr. Duong to visit CSG, hoping to further enhance friendship and deepen cooperation in the electricity sector.

Representatives of the General Office, International Department, Planning Department, Finance Department of CSG and CSG International attended the meeting.
