The Guangdong Provincial Government announced the 2014 Patent Award winners, CSG’s "DC rectifier transformer with a special ice-melting device and its protection” received a gold medal.
After the ice tsunami in 2008, CSG started to work on DC ice melting technology. The techonology was reviewed and accepted in October ,2008. Then it was applied in the anti-ice ice work. The DC ice-melting device includes AC side circuit breaker, isolation switch, rectifier transformers, current transformers and other valve side.
The award winning project was carried by the S&T Research Institute of CSG. The panel commented that CSG’s device was well-designed, high quality, low cost, ,with comprehensive preotection functions and easy to use. The device can melt ice in a safe and fast way at a low cost.
In 2014, the Guangdong Patent Award 15 projects covering electricity, telecommunications, chemical, computer science etc. Each project will be awarded a 100,000 RMB prize.
