On May 23, Khammany Inthirath, Party Secretary and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Lao PDR, visited CSG’s affiliates Yunnan Power Grid and Yunnan Power International and held talks on strengthening cooperation in electricity. Wang Jiuling, CSG’s Vice President, attended the meeting commissioned by Zhao Jianguo, Board Chairman and Party Secretary of CSG.
Khammany Inthirath had a detailed understanding of CSG and the power cooperation between China and Laos. He mentioned that CSG and Laos had a long-time partnership. At the beginning, CSG transmitted power to Laos via 10KV line and that was later upgraded to 115 KV. He expressed his confidence on the interconnection via 500 KV lines in the coming future. Khammany Inthirath thanked CSG for their support and power supply as well as contribution to the local economy when the northern Laos experienced supply difficulties. He believed that CSG would have rapid development and was looking forward to further and better partnership.
Wang Jiuling welcomed the delegation and commented that CSG and the power sectors in Laos had a wide-ranging partnership and the results had been fruitful. CSG transmitted power to northern Laos and supported their local development and demand for electricity. Wang also mentioned that the 230KV lines in norther Laos were under construction and CSG would make every effort to build a quality project and ensured its punctual operation.
Wang remarked that the series of cooperation had deepened the two countries’ friendship and both parties could tap the potential for partnership in power transmission, power grid construction and development. CSG would adhere to partnership and mutual benefit and leverage its strength in power grid construction and development.

The participants of the meeting included officials from the General Office, Energy and Business Department, Energy Management Department of the Laos Ministry of Energy and Mines, Laos State Power Corporation and CSG, CSG International, Yunnan Power International.
