Huaneng released Sustainability Report 2012

On April 23, China Huaneng Group officially released the Sustainability Report 2012 on its corporate website. This is the seventh report on sustainable development since 2006, when the company took the lead in China’s power generation industry to release sustainability report.

The Report upheld the company's basic framework of sustainable development focusing on "three-color culture, four major responsibilities, five models and six developments". Themed as "enhancing management • striving for excellence", the Report systematically set out the practice and the results achieved by the company in 2012 in promoting safe development, optimized development, green development, healthy development, innovative development, harmonious development and so on.

The Report, sparing a separate chapter for the first time, systematically introduced the company's practice and achievements of promoting and enhancing social responsibility management according to the requirements of creating a world-class enterprise. In addition, with a large number of cases from grassroot enterprises, the Report demonstrated the actual practice of conscientiously fulfilling corporate social responsibility and boosting comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development by all levels of enterprises.

The Expert Rating Board of China's CSR Report pointed out in the rating report that "the Report has systematically disclosed the company's practice in safety, economic, environmental and social responsibilities. In terms of content, it strengthens and enhances management by strategy and responsibility, so that the responsibility management can be fully integrated into corporate strategy management system; in terms of form, it is quite innovative. Thus, it is an excellent social responsibility report." The Report was rated as a five-star report.
