China Huaneng Group Released Sustainability Report 2010

On May 26th, China Huaneng Group participated in the “2011 News Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility Reports of China's industrial economy sector", and released its “Sustainability Report 2010”, which is Huaneng’s fifth sustainability report since 2006.

With the theme of "Transforming Development Mode, and Becoming Stronger, Better and Larger”, the Report systematically describes the concepts, goals, measures and performance of China Huaneng Group in realizing comprehensive sustainable development in 2010 from six aspects, namely, safe development, optimized development, clean development, energy-conserving development, healthy development, and harmonious development. The Report also, in the form of dissertation, reviews Huaneng’s achievements during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period and prospects its goals and missions during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period.

Experts from the Rating Committee of China Corporate Social Responsibility Reports believed that, the Report well responded to the expectations of the all stakeholders with a complete framework, a clear theme and a standardized compilation. The Report got a grade of 4.5 stars.

As the first Chinese power generation company to release sustainability report, China Huaneng Group always attaches great importance to fulfill its economic, environmental and social responsibility so as to achieve the goal of rational and sustainable development. China Huaneng Group has received a wide range of praises from governments at all levels and various social sectors for integrating the company's “three-color (red, green and blue) corporate culture” into the entire process of CSR management and actively responding to the concerns and expectations of all stakeholders. In 2010, China Huaneng Group was successively awarded titles of “Special Prize of Chinese Corporate Social Responsibility” and “Top 60 Corporations with Entrepreneurial Spirit”.

This News Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility Reports was sponsored by China Federation of Industrial Economics and jointly organized by China Electric Power Association. 43 corporations released sustainability reports at the News Conference, and China Huaneng Group’s “Sustainability Report 2010” was highly evaluated.
